Somatic Therapy

The theory of somatic therapy is based on the idea that the things that happen in a person’s life, including negative experiences, are not only stored in the brain but in the body as well.
According to this theory, a person can find healing through therapy that addresses the mind and body connection.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a body-inclusive approach that emphasizes the interconnectedness of emotions, thoughts, and the body. Its six guiding principles—organicity, non-violence, unity, mind-body-spirit holism, mindfulness/presence, and relational alchemy—rovide a framework for a safe and effective therapeutic approach to addressing unprocessed traumas and their resulting symptoms

Somatico’s guiding principles
‘Kintsugi’
Kintsugi teaches us that in life we can turn adversity into something beautiful.
Kintsugi shows us that in time, we can heal from our wounds, embrace our imperfections, and become stronger.
Kintsugi reminds us that no matter our difficulties, we can find a way to reframe and find meaning in life.
‘Shadow and Light’
“Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness, will we discover the infinite power of the light”- Brene Brown.
Brene Brown talks about courage, the power of vulnerability and how “vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change”.
Embrace duality and all parts of yourself with courage and vulnerability.
